Forbes magazine has published its ranking of the world’s billionaires and the richest people for the year 2022, particularly those who have fortunes that have reached or exceeded one billion dollars. It was the first time ever that Elon Musk was placed in the lead. Tesla’s stock price rose 33 percent in the past year, which increased his fortune by $68 billion. It was estimated that he is worth about US$ 219 billion. Due to a three percent drop in Amazon stocks and a substantial rise in his charitable donations, Jeff Bezos fell from number one to number two for the first time in four years. This caused a reduction in his net worth of six billion dollars.

Nassef Sawiris tops Egyptian billionaires in Forbes 2022 listIn 2022, Nassif Sawiris, the younger brother of Naguib Sawiris, topped the list of Egypt’s billionaires. He is estimated to have a net worth of $7.7 billion despite losing $600 million from his fortune in 2021, which made him the largest loser among the wealthy Arabs this year after Adidas, in which he owns a 6 percent stake, declined. Nassef ranked 304th globally overall.

He is followed by Naguib Sawiris, whose fortune was estimated to be $3.4 billion, an increase of $200 million over last year’s total. In the year 2021, Naguib ranked 956th, but in the year 2022 he ranked 883rd. The third was Mohammed Mansour, who in 2021 was ranked 1249th in the world with a fortune estimated at about $2.5 billion and remained stable, moving up several places to 1238th globally.

With a fortune estimated at $2.1 billion, Egyptian businessman Mohamed al-Fayed ranked 1445th in the world. With a fortune valued at $ 1.5 billion, Yussef Mansour, the elder brother of Mohamed and Yassin Mansour, came fifth with a rank of 1929, after occupying the 2035th position last year.

Sixth on the list is Yassin Mansour, younger brother of Mohamed and Youssef Mansour, whose fortune is estimated at about $1.1 billion, unchanged from last year, to occupy the 2448th place globally after ranking 2524th in 2021. This year, the fortunes of the Mansour family did not change, and their earnings remained the same as they were in 2022, regardless of their global rankings.
